We all feel the same way at times; there is so much to do, and the modern time-saving tools seem to add to the list. When the to do list grows too long, I have found it helpful just to list the items, and then knock them off, one by one ― and not worry too much about priorities.
Some people keep a journal. It’s not something I do, but writing a frequent blog is probably similar. C.S. Lewis kept a strict writing routine, and he said it helped him with his prodigious output.
Regarding writing by hand, I have started using an E-ink tablet (it is called reMarkable ― there are other brands). The jury is not in yet, but it does seem to be helpful.
Tripp, it is okay not to be able to summon the extra creative mojo to write sometimes. I have barely been able to write anything this year myself. I use my writing time to read as much as write these days. Creativity is not the same as making a tuna sandwich - you can’t just accomplish it because you decide to. ❤️
Grieving IS difficult. It has so many twists and turns. I am thankful that some grieving has calmed down and that I have come to a resting point, a bench along the way. Some days I look at my life and know that I MUST go to the storage unit and just open it up, call a removal company or a storage auction site and get rid of things in it that are just sitting there. And then, "oh well. they can continue to be there. At least I don't have to make that decision today"
Know that you are not alone in this journey as we send good thoughts your way (and prayers).
When I go through hard times, like a death, I realize it's to help someone else and empathy is developed deeper than ever. And they think we are awesome! Lol. We are!
Thanks for checking in, Tripp. God is with us, but Life is still hard, overwhelmingly at times. Thanks for your work.
Prayers for you and your family. Grief does kick butt. But it’s important to let it and not pretend it’s all ok. Take all of the time you need.
Prayers for you and your family.

Tripp, I understand the grief spiral—I’ve been submerged in one for several months. 🫂
Sharon, I am sorry to hear that. And, yes, “submerged” is the right word.
