First, welcome to all the new subscribers. It’s great to have you here!
As you may have figured out, I’m still getting this thing off the ground. We’re getting better all the time. I have a new solo podcast coming up soon as well as an interview with Dr. Stephan Quarles on the cross and salvation in the works. I’ve recorded the interview, but I need to edit it still. All is well here at The Lo-Fi Gospel Minute.
This morning’s coffee is fresh from the French press. That’s become our Saturday morning ritual. During the week, we’re drip maker people. Vast quantities with little effort. The French press takes a little more attention and effort and makes less, but the quality of coffee is better, I think. I’m a snob where my java is concerned. Ha!
The cats are sleeping in their favorite spots. The sun is beginning to rise. My son wanted peanut butter and jelly for breakfast. I’m happy to oblige.
The academic fall is starting to take shape. Work at the middle school is settling into a rhythm. We’re three weeks in and the kids finally know where all their classes are. I’m teaching Spanish I and II this year. It’s a very different vibe from last year’s Physical Science or the summer’s Biology.
The weather has been cooperative as well. The summer heat is beginning to lessen. Virginia can still give us 90 degree temps into October, but we’ve had a run of 80 degree days that have served as a nice break from the heat.
I’m retooling the dissertation. I’m working hard at the middle school. Home life is gloriously chaotic and full. The Franciscan process continues at it’s own pace. I find little shards of God’s salvation in all of it. Gratitude. Purpose. Practice. Love.
I share all this as a way to check in and let you know what’s going on with me and where we are with the podcast. I wonder how your life is, too. How is the new program or academic year shaping up? Are you continuing with the same rhythms or has something changed. How are you managing the vicissitudes of life and where are you finding salvation?
Let me know in the comments.
I look forward to your next supper and to your new podcast. Best of luck in getting that off the ground.
Hey, Trippe!
Thanks for the update. I feel as if I know you since you & Diana have messed up a few of my suppers. Wonderful stuff!
As I told Diana, I’m a 3rd-generation Universalist from the Magnolia State. I’ve been waiting an awfully long time for Christians to finally become acquainted with the research that has been ongoing, especially since the formation of the Jesus Seminar(I’ve attended a few live seminars.
This was my upbringing. Jesus was to be for me the exemplar for how I was to live my life. I needn’t worry about hell in the afterlife for we humans make our own heaven or hell right here on earth.
